Shark Teeth Hunting
The best time to find sharks teeth is after a rain, when the soil has washed away from the fossils. Sharks teeth are usually black and gray in color, depending on the sediment surrounding them. If you have the patience to look for these tiny, little teeth, they can be found in Toole County. Some teeth are preserved from hundreds of millions of years ago, but the most common are from only about 65 million years ago, when sharks were swimming around Toole County. by Toole County.Word Press
Gneiss
Gneiss is a high-grade, metamorphic rock. Intense heat and pressure created these beautiful, rough rocks. Through the process of metamorphism, the minerals and crystals in the rocks, recrystallized. These rocks, with their distinct banding, are abundant in Toole County. The fact that the rocks are here, shows that not only were they exposed to tremendous heat, but also to tremendous cold. Gneiss was transported to Toole County in a glacier from Manitoba. Toole County.Word Press
Cobb Gas Storage N/W of Sunburst
Northwestern Energy gathers gas from different producers during times of low demand, compresses the gas, then stores it for times of high demand. The natural gas is pushed into the ground, via bidirectional compressors, wells, pipelines, etc, into a natural storage field. The field, in Toole and Glacier Counties, does not have a storage container underground, but the 900 pounds of natural gas is trapped in the ground, where gas had originally been found. Natural gas was discovered in Toole County in 1914. During times of high demand, during our Montana winters, the natural gas is brought back out of natural storage. The natural gas will supply three months of energy, with a couple of billion cubic feet of gas, for a much greater population than Toole and Glacier Counties.
Cobb Storage, is the largest natural gas storage field, of three fields, in Montana. Loop Road, just north of the intersection of Bunyak Road, you will see plenty of evidence that natural gas is pumped back into the ground, and extracted later, at times of high demand. by toolecounty.wordpress
